New phone or new laptop? DR.FONE in Nicosia moves your contacts, photos, messages and files across properly — your old device stays untouched, and we’re upfront about what each platform allows.

What we transfer

  • Old phone → new phone — contacts, photos, videos, messages, apps and settings, plus chat apps like WhatsApp where the platform allows it.
  • Old laptop → new laptop — documents, photos, email, browser bookmarks and the files that matter, set up so you can find them again.
  • Phone → computer or external drive — getting your photos off a full phone before it becomes a problem.

Honest about platform limits

Most transfers go smoothly, but not everything is technically movable, and we’d rather say so before you hand over the device. Switching between iPhone and Android is the main case: contacts and photos move well, but some app data, message history and purchased apps don’t carry over, and WhatsApp chat transfer between platforms only works within the routes the app itself supports. We’ll tell you exactly what will and won’t come across for your specific pair of devices before we start.

Often done while you wait

Many phone-to-phone transfers can be done in-store while you wait — typical time is around [SERVICE_TIME_ESTIMATE], depending on how much data you have. Larger laptop transfers may need to stay with us a little longer; we’ll give you a realistic estimate when we see the devices.

Your privacy matters

A transfer means your data passes through our hands. We handle every device confidentially and access only what is needed to complete the transfer, in line with GDPR and our privacy policy. Nothing is copied anywhere except onto your new device or the destination you choose.

How it works

  • 1. Bring both devices — old and new, with any passcodes you use (handled transparently, see below).

  • 3. Transfer — your data is copied across; the originals on your old device are left untouched.
  • 4. Check together — you verify your photos, contacts and files are on the new device before you leave.

I’m switching from iPhone to Android (or the other way). What won’t transfer?

Contacts, photos, videos and calendars move well. Honestly, some things don’t: paid apps must be re-purchased, app-internal data often can’t move, and iMessage/SMS history transfers only partially. WhatsApp offers an official cross-platform transfer route for many device combinations — we’ll check whether yours is supported before promising it.

What access do you need to my devices?

We’ll need the devices unlocked or the passcodes for the duration of the transfer, and for some steps your account sign-ins (for example your Google or Apple ID) — which you can enter yourself in-store. We tell you exactly what’s needed and why before we start, and we never note down or keep your credentials.

Will anything be deleted from my old device?

No. A transfer copies your data — the originals stay on your old device exactly as they were. If you later want the old device wiped before selling it, we can do that as a separate, explicit step.
