Water Damage? Act Now.

Phone dropped in water, the sea, or the pool? The next few hours matter. Power it off, don’t charge it, and get it to DR.FONE in Nicosia as fast as you can — we’ll open it, clean it, and tell you honestly what can be saved.

Do this right now

  • Power the phone off — and leave it off. Electricity flowing through a wet board causes short circuits.
  • Do NOT charge it — plugging in a wet phone is one of the fastest ways to kill it.
  • Do NOT put it in rice — rice doesn’t dry the inside of a phone, and the lost time makes corrosion worse.
  • Don’t press buttons or “test” it — every power-on attempt risks more damage.
  • Bring it in as soon as possible — or message us first: [DRFONE_PHONE] / [DRFONE_WHATSAPP].

Why time matters

Liquid itself rarely destroys a phone instantly — corrosion does. Moisture left on the board starts eating away at components and connections within hours, and the damage gets worse every day. A phone that arrives within hours has a much better chance than one that sat in a drawer for a week. That’s why we treat water damage as urgent.

Our process

  • 1. Open and inspect — we open the device and assess how far the liquid reached.
  • 2. Ultrasonic cleaning — the board is cleaned to remove moisture, residue and early corrosion.
  • 3. Board assessment — we test which components survived and which were damaged.
  • 4. Honest report — you get the realistic options and costs, starting from [STARTING_PRICE] for the diagnosis, before deciding anything.

Honest about outcomes

No repair shop can guarantee a water-damaged phone — and you should be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. What we promise is the assessment: we tell you what we found, what can realistically be saved, and what it would cost, before you spend anything on repairs. Sometimes the answer is a full recovery; sometimes the honest answer is that the board is too far gone.

If your data matters most

Tell us up front if photos, contacts or files are your priority. Even when a phone can’t be economically repaired, the data is often still recoverable — and we can focus the work on getting it back. See our data recovery service for details.

Is the rice trick a myth?

Yes. Rice can’t reach the moisture inside the phone, where the damage happens. The days spent “drying” in rice are days corrosion spreads. Power off, don’t charge, and bring the phone in instead.

Does sea water make it worse than fresh water?

Significantly — salt is highly corrosive and conducts electricity, so sea water damages boards faster. Pool water with chlorine is also harsher than fresh water. With sea water, every hour counts even more.

The phone is completely dead — can my data still be saved?

Often, yes. A dead phone doesn’t necessarily mean dead storage — the data chip frequently survives even when the board doesn’t. We assess this as part of the diagnosis; see data recovery for what’s involved.

What does the diagnosis cost and how long does it take?

The diagnosis starts from [STARTING_PRICE], and the inspection and cleaning are typically done within [SERVICE_TIME_ESTIMATE]. Any repair work after that is quoted separately and only proceeds with your approval, covered by [WARRANTY_POLICY] where applicable.
